Trip to Oxford

This year the entire family made the journey to Oxford for the LSU game.  It's the first time we've brought a kid with us since James was a couple of months old.  We had the BEST weekend!

We drove to Jackson Thursday, so we were able to enjoy all of Friday in Oxford.  And we made the most of the day!

First stop: City Grocery for lunch.  We ran into our friends the Persias at City Grocery, and that is Mike taking our picture and photobombing us in the mirror.

Fun at Rowan Oak.  James seemed to be in a constant state of throwing the football.  Thankfully, Dad always obliges.

Rowan Oak garden.

Pathway from Rowan Oak to campus.  It was a beautiful weekend!

Ice cream with Reet Reet and Papi, followed by the pumpkin patch at St. Peter's.

Dinner on the Square Friday night with Carol and Matt Fields and Ashley and Tom Rich.

More football throwing in The Grove!

Ashley, Carol and I visited the newly renovated DG house.  It was amazing, but also a madhouse.  I am so disappointed that I didn't get a picture with just me and Natalie!  When we walked into the dining room, she said "this many girls eat dinner here?"

Sweet friends, all these years later.

James took mom's ticket and sat with Papi at the game.  To no one's surprise, Papi bought him anything and everything at the concession stand.  We drove back to Jackson after the game, and James threw up around 2:00 am.  Oh well, we all had a great time! Just wish the Rebs would have won.

Long drive back to Houston---tough after a fun, exhausting weekend.
