Quick Girl's Trip: LSU v. Alabama Gymnastics

Natalie and I got away for a quick mini girl's trip: LSU v. Alabama gymnastics meet in Baton Rouge.  The meet was sold out, and as Natalie said, I think we were the only Alabama fans there.  It was fun to share this passion with Natalie.

I think Natalie's favorite part was the hotel and room service.  I seriously think I could have taken her to the nearest hotel in Houston, ordered the $9 yogurt parfait and she would have been just as happy.

We slept in, ordered breakfast and cuddled and watched tv.  Perfection.

Natalie asked to go shopping before we headed back to Houston, so a Target trip it was.  She picked out a puppy for Camille: meet Cupcake

Snow Days in Houston

This past week we had a pleasant (and BIG) surprise: snow in Houston.  Well, more like a wintery mix of snow/sleet/rain.  But there was actual snow, and we all had two days off of school and work!

"Guys, guess what?  No school tomorrow!"

Tuesday was a lot of waiting for snow: board games, playing with Camille, watching movies, and a lot of baking and hot chocolate!

Licking the bowl, just like her mom!  And of course, Camille had to participate.

Cheers to the "snow" finally arriving!

Lots of snow football and "snowball fights"---I use that term loosely, as it was more of a sleet/ice/snow fight.

Little redneck baby: socks for gloves, pjs and rain boots.

A fun two days!!

Brad's Half Marathon

This past week Brad ran the Houston half marathon (again!).  His time was 1:57, which was faster than he anticipated.  We missed seeing him cross the finish line but were there to congratulate him!

Flight Night at SBS was also this weekend, and the kids had a blast!  Brad sent me the pictures of Luke getting his face painted, and I couldn't believe that this child would willingly do this!  Brad said he begged to do it, and then would walk up to random people and "ROAR"!  Natalie also got in on the fun, but apparently James was too busy running around with friends to stop for a picture!

Sidenote: Bear received a MUCH needed hair cut last weekend!  We still don't recognize him, but he such has given in to his inner-poodle.

Natalie's Green Bay and Chicago Trip

After turning 6, it was Natalie's turn to have an alone trip with Grandmama and Granddaddy.  She stayed in Green Bay after Christmas and then the three of them went to Chicago for a couple of days.  Needless to say, Natalie had an AMAZING trip!

Fun in Green Bay!

Everyone LOVED Ms. Kitty

Natalie loves anything that is special---special lunch, special outfit, special alone time, special trip, special hotel, etc.  I think she loved everything about Chicago!

Staying at the fancy Palmer House Hotel.  Natalie is a lot like her father: she loves hotels and room service!

The traveling party saw The Greatest Showman two times!  Natalie is now obsessed with this movie! (sidenote: this past week during Houston's snow days, we were planning a movie trip, and Natalie literally cried because James and Luke didn't want to go see The Greatest Showman.  "But they won't go see it as a kid, and then they won't go see it as an adult, and I really want them to watch it.  And Paddington 2 is inappropriate because he washes the window with his behind."  Actual tears)

And then there was a trip to the American Girl Doll store.  I tried to warned G&G....... but now we have Camille, and all is right in the world.

A very special trip---thank you, G&G!  We were thrilled to have her back home!
