Spring Break

James had Spring Break this week, and he and Brad started it off by camping at Huntsville State Park, which is about an hour or so north of Houston.  "Man Time" at its best.

So while the boys were peeing on things and getting dirty, us girls went shopping and got ice cream.

Natalie absolutely LOVED Nordstrom.  She loved riding the elevator, she loved the "mate-tup", she loved "all the beautiful dresses".  She loved it.  I'll say it again: I am so happy that God, in all His wisdom, gave me a girl.  Especially this girl.

Luke got his first haircut, which he HATED.  Notice that he is clutching his Hot Wheels for dear life; his safety blanket.  I have mixed feelings about it: on the one hand he doesn't look like a ragamuffin anymore, but on the other hand he looks so old!  Kinda like a 40 year old banker.

On Thursday I took the kids and James's friend Caleb to visit the HPD Mounted Patrol Stables.  A friend gave me the idea, and it was such a neat place.  The stables were so clean and the people so nice.  We fed the horses lots and lots of carrots.

Natalie started off a bit skeptical

but quickly warmed up

The rest of the week was spent playing with friends and enjoying the peaks of sunshine.  The bounce house was a permanent fixture in our backyard this week.  James also enjoyed Shipley's do-nuts on the days that Natalie and Luke had school.

Back to reality tomorrow.....

Here we go.....

Well, after many New Year's resolutions to document my children's happenings, I have finally decided to forge ahead with a blog (thanks, Julia!).  This is mainly to assuage my own guilt of not having a single milestone in a single baby book--or even have bought said baby book.  I hope you will enjoy it nonetheless.

The kiddos these days: I was coming downstairs the other night from checking on them, and I almost got teary eyed because of how fast they are growing.   James went from this

to this

in the blink of an eye.  James is loving school.  He's reading!!  I am amazed at this fact every time he does it.  He just finished basketball and has started baseball, yes baseball.  Not t-ball like I thought when I signed him up.  Baseball: practice twice a week and games 1-2 times a week.

Natalie is ALL girl.  She loves Tippy Toes (ballet) and dressing herself (see picture #2 taken at Kroger).  She is still the sweetest girl ever made; however, she does have a mind of her own :)  No rushing this one.

Luke is the fattest, happiest baby!  He is the most loved in this household, as his siblings think he came home yesterday.  He is working on walking, but simply refuses to do it by himself.  He is obsessed with balls and Hot Wheels.  And don't get between this one and food....

As you can see, we are a pretty happy household.  Lots of fun with these three
