London!!

For years, Mom and I have talked of going to London.  Well, Kensington Palace had a year long exhibit of Princess Diana's dresses, and I couldn't pick a better time for the three of us to visit.  This trip came right on the heel of Harvey, and in fact, we had to re-route our trip and it was touch and go for a while.  We missed a connection in Atlanta (surprise, surprise), and it took us a day to recover from jet lag/lack of sleep, but we made the most of our time!!

Mom and Allison indulged me and went to mass at Westminster instead of the Catholic cathedral :)

St. James Palace and Buckingham!

Tourists? Yes!

St. Paul's!  We didn't go in, but it was fun to see where Diana and Charles were married.

First day in Notting Hill!

I have forever been OBSESSED with Diana, and it was amazing to see some of her most famous dresses up close.  The exhibit and palace did not disappoint!

We happened to arrive the day after the 20th anniversary of Diana's death, so the gates were flooded with tributes.

One of Diana's designers, Catherine Walker I think, saved the sketches she did for Diana--very cool.

Diana Memorial Garden at Kensington Palace!  It was beautiful, and we loved having lunch at the Palace cafe.

Other than the Diana exhibit, one of the neatest thing that we did was a tour of the Globe Theatre.  Our tour guide was so knowledgable, and it was so cool to see a replicable of the historic Globe (the original one burned during a play).

We saw two shows while in London: Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (my choice) and Jesus Christ Superstar (Mom's choice).  Well, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof featured full frontal nudity (man and woman-Sienna Miller!) and it we saw it the day we arrived.  I think we all preferred JCSS!  It was at an outdoor theater in Regent's Park and was beautiful!  The set and costumes were pretty basic, which highlighted the talent of the performers.  It was A-MAZ-ING!

We had such a fun trip!! Can't wait to take another
