Spring Break: Part 1

Spring Break was filled with so much fun!!  Allison and Caroline came to visit/babysit, and we loved having them in Houston.  We started the weekend with a girl's trip to Waco to visit Magnolia Market, the store owned by the stars of Fixer Upper.  We got there just in time to avoid the long line that was wrapped around the block!  It was fun playing outside and eating at the food trucks.  We didn't see Joanna or Chip, but had a great time.

Largely  inspired by the gardens at Magnolia Market, Allison and I built two raised vegetable garden beds.  Once we bought the right tools and figured out the logistics of it, we did pretty good if I say so myself.  We planted tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, strawberries, zucchini, herbs and a lot of lettuce.  Natalie and Luke loved helping--or should I say, loved wearing gardening gloves and using gardening tools :)

I know Allison will be upset if I don't add this part: I did start off not wearing the gloves to spread the compost (cow poop) but put them on to spread the dirt.  As I said, it took us a bit to figure out the logistics.  The garden is growing, and hopefully we will have updated pictures with produce soon.
