When I say I can hardly believe that he doesn't still sleep in footed pjs---I can hardly believe that he doesn't still sleep in footed pjs. This is the MOST affectionate child. There is nothing he loves more than waking up and coming in our bed to cuddle. And every once in a while, he will still let me carry him up the stairs.
He is wickedly smart, and remembers EVERYTHING. Everything. He has endless energy and is a fantastic big brother. He's passionate, active, loving and all around a wonderful child.

Some of my favorite pictures with my "little man"
We had to have a "faux" birthday celebration 2 days before his actual big day, as Brad was going to be in New Orleans on James's actual birthday. It was also the only day that it would be just James at home. James was completely onto us and kept asking "are you sure today is my actual birthday?" "you promise?" As I said above, wickedly smart.
To celebrate this very special boy he had birthday donuts, VBS, Chick-fil-a and Monkey Joe's (indoor inflatables) with three of his friends, presents and, per his request, McDonald's for dinner! A great day indeed.

Inflatable overload!! Sidenote: why didn't I think of this concept? This place is nothing more than giant inflatables, and my kids LOVE this place. Genius.
Light Sabers and Legos for everyone!
Luke imitating his big brother. Be still my heart.

As you can see, James has always been a fan of birthday presents. These are from his first birthday.

He also enjoys a birthday dinner in his honor. The top picture is from his third birthday. I can hardly look at this picture without tearing up. (Disclosure: as I write this blog post, James has been in Green Bay for the past 5 days, and I am missing him like crazy).
Happy birthday, wonderful boy!
